Summary:

This presentation will discuss how cultural knowledge informs disaster preparedness, especially in relation to earthquakes in our region. Jonathan will also address the importance of considering community, heritage, and sense of place when thinking about disaster response and recovery.

BIO:

Jonathan Eaton is a PhD candidate in Anthropology at UBC whose research sits at the intersection of heritage and disasters, with a focus on Vancouver neighbourhoods.
